Call for Applications for the 2025 Geneva Human Rights Institutions Visit Program  
In order to foster global human resources with human rights awareness and creative problem-solving skills, the SNU Human Rights Center calls for the application for participants interested in the field of international human rights to visit the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Permanent Representative of Korea to the UN in Geneva, and the United Nations Office at Geneva, the deliberations on country reports of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and meet with the Committee on Social Rights, to learn international cooperation and efforts to respond human rights issues, the establishment, enforcement, and monitoring of international human rights norms, and to enhance their understanding of international human rights by providing opportunities to meet and talk with experts in the field.   Selected students must participate in 3 pre-study sessions
Number of participants : 10 Undergraduate students
Visit Period in Geneva : 2025 June 23 (Mon) - July 3 (Thu) (10 nights 11 days)
Eligibility
- Undergraduate students enrolled at SNU (including students on leave, but excluding those scheduled to graduate in August, 2025.)
- Those who can communicate in English - Those who do not have any disqualifying reasons for travelling abroad
- Those who can participate in the entire program schedule, including 3 pre-study sessions and program in Geneva
Participation Fee - Out-of-pocket expenses: Round-trip airfare and personal expenses including food, etc. (NOT covered).** - Support from the SNU Human Rights Center: program operating costs, accommodation (1 room for 2 people), travel insurance.   ** However, among the selected students, only students who fall into the 0~1 income quintile of the Korea Scholarship Foundation, such as the basic living allowance recipients and the next highest income quintile, receive some part of round-trip airfare and local activity expenses (required to submit supporting documents, see attached file for details).
Selection Criteria and Selection Schedule
- Applicants will be selected based on their understanding and interest in international human rights through the application, activity plan, and interview.

- Interviewee announcement: 2025 March 14 (Fri)
- Interview date: 2025 March 21 (Fri) - Announcement of successful applicants: 2024 March 19 (Wed)
※ The above schedule is subject to change based on internal circumstances, and any modifications will be notified in advance.  
Application Due: March 7 (Fri) until 18:00

Documents to be submitted
1) Application through Extracurricular Programs (link above)
2) 1 copy of statement of and activity plan [attached form]
3) 1 copy of enrollment certificate as of 2024-2 semester (enrolment certificate for students on leave)
4) 1 copy of transcript as of 2024-2 semester [printable from MySNU portal]
5) 1 original legal representative consent form (only for students under the age of 19, born on or after 2005 March  [attached form]
6) Supporting documents for students who are in the 0~1 income quintile of the Basic Livelihood Recipients, Secondary Class, and Korea Scholarship Foundation (only for bursary applicants)  
* Note: No need to submit certified language transcripts
○ The Human Rights Center cannot be held responsible for any problems arising from a lack of familiarity with the selection announcement, so please contact us if you have any questions before applying.
○ Selected applicants must submit the original participation pledge and legal representative consent form before starting the program and complete their flight ticket purchase no later than 2025 April 11th (Fri).
○ Participants must submit a result report by Friday, July 18, 2025 after returning to their home country. (to be announced again later)
