World and Human Rights: Ten Years of Change







Description:

SNU Human Rights Center co-hostedm with Amnesty Korea, a special lecture by Audrey Gaughran, Director of Global Issues and Research at Amnesty International, on trends and challenges of international human rights movements with regards to death penalty, migrant workers, refugees, and arms trade. The talk also addressed business and human rights by introducing the speaker’s own activities in the field to urge businesses to fulfill its responsibility to respect human rights.

*About the Speaker:

Audrey Gaughran started her career at Amnesty International as a Researcher of its Africa Program. She had also served as Head of Business and Human Rights, Director of the Africa Program. Since 2010, she has been the Director of Global Issues and Research at the organization and has dealt with arms trade, business and human rights, death penalty, refugees, and migrant workers. Prior to her work at Amnesty International, she worked in the United Nations and multiple organizations working on environment protection and socioeconomic developments. In those years, she wrote many reports on economic development, business and international finance institutes, and women’s rights.
